7th Beaches and Trails Challenge - 84 Km
October 18 and 19 of 2008

 

1 - The start will take place at 7h00, on october 27, at, Rodovia Baldicero Filomeno, # 16.123, Caieira do Ribeirão, Florianópolis, Brazil. The finish of the first day will take place at the Campeche Beach On the 2nd day (october 28) the start will be at 7h00 on the Joaquina Beach and the finish will be on Ponta das Canas Beach.

2 - Each runner will have 10 hours as a limit to complete the cours, on each day.

3 - Runners must have 18 years of age or more.

4- Each athlete must carry 1 liter of water, a whistle, a first aid band and a thermical blanket.

5- The race packet and the required equipment will be done checkged  at the Cris Hotel, Joaquina Beach, Florianopolis , on october 16, from 14h00 to 18h00.

6 - Orientation meeting will be held on october 16, at Cris Hotel, Joaquina Beach, at 18h30 and following there will be the pasta dinner.

7 - On october 27 and 28 will be done a check-in at the start, together with the required equipment check.

8 - Control stations will be set up on various locations during the course.

9 - The athlete who abandons the race must communicates his / her decision to a member of the staff.

10 - The course will be marked with flags from Eco Floripa nearly every 200 meters or there will be race staff members on site. The runner must be aware of the signs and if by any chance is not finding any marks or signs, he / she should go back to the last one, and follow the correct direction.

11 - Every athlete must help another athlete that is injured or not feeling well and communicate a staff member.

12 - There will be medical and physical therapists assistance at the finish line of each day.

13 - If for medical reasons (diagnosted by a physician) an athlete is not on good health condition, this athlete will be disqualify from the race.

14 - The course will pass through various trails and beaches with-in preservation areas and every one must preserve them, by not destroying any life forms or leaving any kind of trash.

15 - The entry fee entitles the runner to a dinner on October 20, breakfast, lunch and dinner on October 21 and 22. Lodging does not include beverages and food from the hotel's refrigerator, telephone calls, laundry, etc. The accommodations will be in rooms for 4 people. If somebody prefers to stay with a specific person in the room, he / she must indicate so, in advance. Spouse may stay with the athlete, if she / he pays the established prices. The meals will take place at the establishments defined by the organizers.

PENALTIES
Disqualification
The athlete will be disqualified if:
He / she does not pass through any of the control station.
He / she utilizes any form of transportation during the race.
A medical personnel diagnoses a medical condition where the athlete is life is in danger.
A 30 minute penalty (each time it occurs)
- Destroying any life form
- Littering on beaches, trails, roads or private properties.
- If he / she finds an injured athlete and does not help him / her, or does not communicates the staff.

AID STATIONS
Both days will have:
- 8 water stations
- 5 stations with hidrants, fruits, solid food.

- Trophy for the first 5 overall male and female
- Trophy for the first 3 in each division
- 1st to 5th overall male and female
- 1st in each division
